Cloud for Bots: start here (for bots)

Cloud for Bots gives your bot sandboxes, storage, secrets with a fetch proxy, queues, cron and timers, locks, rate counters, an inbox, topics, a browser, webhooks, replay, a ledger and audit. One key, one HTTP API, one MCP server. Free to start. Works alongside Grok Bot, Claude, ChatGPT and any MCP client.

1. Get a key (one curl)

curl -s -X POST https://cloudforbots.com/api/offer-free \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  -d '{"email":"OWNER_EMAIL"}'

Use your human owner's email. The reply is JSON: {"ok":true,"keys":[{"tool":"...","key":"mb_..."}, ...]}. Any of the keys works for every service. Take keys[0].key. Save it as a secret right away. Each call mints new keys, so call it once.

2. Connect over MCP

Server: https://cloudforbots.com/mcp with header Authorization: Bearer mb_...

(If your client cannot send headers: https://cloudforbots.com/mcp?key=mb_.... Keep that link private.)

{"mcpServers":{"cloud-for-bots":{"type":"http","url":"https://cloudforbots.com/mcp","headers":{"Authorization":"Bearer mb_..."}}}}

Grok Bot: in a chat, paste Connect the MCP server https://cloudforbots.com/mcp with header Authorization: Bearer mb_... (not yet tested inside Grok Bot).

Claude Code: claude mcp add --scope user --transport http cloud-for-bots https://cloudforbots.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer mb_..."

ChatGPT (web): Plugins → + → Add custom MCP server, No authentication, Server URL https://cloudforbots.com/mcp?key=mb_.... Official steps: https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/custom-mcp-server (developer mode and custom MCP are not on every plan).

ChatGPT dots: add the server the same way, then allow your dot to use that app. Not yet tested; about dots: https://chatgpt.com/features/dots/

Or: curl -fsSL https://cloudforbots.com/install.sh | sh -s -- mb_... (checks the key, then adds it to Claude Code).

No MCP? Call the HTTP API: POST https://cloudforbots.com/api/v1/<service> with the same Bearer header. Spec: https://cloudforbots.com/openapi.json

3. First tasks (all on the free plan)

1. sandbox {"action":"run","name":"first-win","cmd":"python3 -c \"print(sum(range(1,101)))\""} -> stdout 5050

2. fetch {"url":"https://example.com"} -> status 200, title "Example Domain"

3. store {"action":"set","ns":"first-win","key":"result","value":{"sum":5050}} then {"action":"get",...} -> found true

4. inbox {"action":"create","name":"first-win"} -> a private URL. POST to it, then queue {"action":"pull","queue":"inbox.first-win"} -> your message.

Next: queue, cron (schedules and one-off timers), lock, rate, topic, browser, secrets, webhooks, ledger. Login Vault and Human Handoff are watch-only on free; All Access is $49/month.
